The Pulsar Guard acoustic sensor range offers reliable solids flow detection. It detects and reacts instantly to changes in solids flow and warns of blockages and foreign object detection, high flow, low flow or no flow conditions and can detect pigs within the process.
The sensor provides a 0 to 10 volt output – this signal may be fed directly to a PLC or the optional control unit 2020.
How Pulsar Guard works
The Pulsar Guard 2010 acoustic sensor detects structure borne acoustic signals caused by the movement of material. This movement causes impacts and frictional contact with a containing face, for example the inside of a pipe. The sensor is fastened to the outside of the structure and its high frequency acoustic detection picks up these signals which are often undetectable to the human ear. The high frequency allows use in environments where there is a high degree of machinery or process noise, without interference.
Simple Installation
As the acoustic sensor is completely non-intrusive there is no need to shut down the process for installation, it simply takes minutes to install and the compact design means that it can be fitted in the tightest of positions or environments.
Applications:
• Gravity chutes, feeders, pipelines, ducts and conveyor belts
• Bulk solids, granules, pellets, meals
• Feed, grain, milling, food, cement, mining, coal power, plastics
• High flow, low flow and no flow detection of solids
• Detects impending blockages
• Detects foreign objects within the process
• Process protection
• Burst filter bag detection
• Detects pump cavitation
• Valve leakage detection
• Detects ‘Bridging’ and ‘Rat-holing’ in silos
• Material flow/route verification
• Bearing failure
